Enviva is committed to protecting the forest landscape and assisting with the growth of forests. To be most effective, we work with partners in both the public and the private sectors.
The Longleaf Alliance
Our sourcing from mapped longleaf pine forests enables longleaf forest ecosystem restoration and improvement of biodiversity habitats. Enviva partners with The Longleaf Alliance to implement our longleaf forest restoration plan, so that our biomass removals will serve as a critical step in the longleaf restoration process.
Earthworm Foundation
We collaborated with Earthworm to update and expand our Responsible Sourcing Policy, and we continue to work with them to protect high conservation value areas (HCVs). Through our work together, Enviva is taking steps to protect species diversity and habitat within the individual tracts we source from, in addition to upholding cultural values. With Earthworm we are also verifying that third-party suppliers are appropriately assessed and supported to make improvements, and collaboratively working with the conservation community and other stakeholders to address landscape-scale issues and opportunities.
Keeping Forests
We are proud to partner with Keeping Forests to help the general public connect the dots between responsible forest management and the long-term viability of southern forests. Enviva stands behind Keeping Forests’ role in promoting the importance of sustainably managed forests and the benefits they provide. Through targeted messaging and initiatives, we help motivate others to join the movement and invest in forest health.
Girl Scouts of Greater Mississippi
We partner with the Girl Scouts of Greater Mississippi (GSGMS) to assist with programs related to climate change, tree planting, conservation initiatives, and other STEM/natural resources-related education opportunities. As an official partner, Enviva provides financial support to facilitate the long-term forest management and revenue-generation plans for two GSGMS-owned camps. As part of the Girl Scouts’ national Tree Promise Program, which aims to plant five million trees in five years across the U.S., Enviva, GSGMS, and the Longleaf Alliance will begin planting 40,000 trees at Camp Iti Kana, a historic longleaf pine ecosystem.
Enviva Forest Conservation Fund
A $5 million, 10-year program designed to protect sensitive bottomland forests.
